Once Upon A ...Sketch: Grow

Osallistun ensimmäistä kertaa Once Upon A ...Sketch -haasteeseen. Haasteeseen kuuluu luonnos ja teema tarinoinnille. Tässä kuussa teemana oli kasvu (grow). Kun mietin, mistä aiheesta sivun tekisin, niin huomasin että en ole tehnyt yhtään sivua itsestäni. Löysin samalla myös Gail Sheehyn lausahduksen, joka sopi täydellisesti sivun otsikoksi.

I'm participating to Once Upon A ...Sketch challenge for the first time. The challenge includes a sketch and theme for the journaling. This month the journaling theme is "Grow". When I was thinking what picture and story I could scrapbook, I realized that I haven't made a LO about myself. At the same time I found a quote from Gail Sheehy that was the perfect title to my page.

Tämä sivu oli myös ensimmäinen kokeiluni akryylimaalien kanssa. Olen nähnyt muiden sivuissa käytettävän mustaa, mutta jotenkin sen käyttäminen on tuntunut pelottavalta. Ehkä mustan maalin käyttäminen sopi myös teemaan ja maalasin heti aluksi paperiin ison alueen mustalla :) Sivun tarinointi on piilotettu kuvan taakse "story" tagiin. Tarinointi on enenmmänkin muistilappu itselleni siitä, että asioiden ja tilanteiden muuttuessa, aina tulee olla aikaa unelmoinnille.

This page is also my first try with acrylic paints. I have seen black used in scrapbooking pages, but for some reason actually using black in my own page has felt intimidating. But maybe the use of black also suited to the theme of this page, so I painted big part of the page black right at the beginning :) The journaling is hidden under the photo (the tag with "story" sticker). Journaling is more like note-to-self that even when the situations change, you must always find time for dreaming.
