Enjoy every day: Skräppisivu Askartelu Amalialle ColorHills-tuotteista

Vähän aikaa sitten Askartelu Amalia haki tuotetestaajia ColorHills-tuotteille. Minä ilmoittauduin ja tulin valituksi, kiitos Mira! Pääsinkin kokeilemaan ensikertaa sarjan pirteän värisiä tuotteita. Ensimmäiseksi tein skräppisivun. Amaliasta saamassani paketissa oli tyyliini sopivia papereita, erityisesti tuo vaalea paperi. Tuo vihreä paperi sopi sen kanssa täydellisesti tuoden hieman lisäväriä taustaan. Lähdin työstämään taustaa lisäksi myös itse gessolla ja gelatoseilla tehdyillä vesivärikuvioilla. Oli myös mukava huomata, että paperit olivat todella hyvä laatuisia ja ne kestivät hyvin gessoa ja vettä. Kuvan alle yhdistin muutaman valmiin tarinointikortin.

A little while ago a Finnish craft store "Askartelu Amalia" asked volunteers to make some samples of ColorHills products that are now available in their shop. Of course I wanted to try these colorful products and I was chosen, yay! First I made an LO. The package I received had some nice papers including that I wanted to use as a base of my LO. I added the green paper to bring more color to the background. I covered the background also with some gesso and watercolors (gelatos). The quality of these papers was really nice, it didn't warp even when added quite a lot of water. Under the photo I added few journaling cards.

Tykästyin todella tämän sivun väreihin, vaikka ne ovatkin itselleni ehkä hieman poikkeavat. On myös ollut jännä huomata, kuinka tarinointi on noussut yhä tärkeämmäksi osaksi sivujani. Nykyään tykkäänkin laittaa kirjoitukset suoraan näkyviin ja tarinoinnin pois jättäminen kokonaan ei tulisi enää mieleenkään.

I really like the outcome and the colors even though they aren't really my go-to colors. It's also nice to realize that I have really been keen to adding the journaling. Lately I have added the journaling directly to the front of the page and leaving it totally out isn't an option any more.

Nämä kuvat ovat lojuneet pöydälläni jo pidempään odottamassa skräppäämistä. CSI-haasteen tämän viikon värit sopivat näihin todella hyvin, joten pääsin vihdoin käyttämään kuvia. Viime kesänä ajoimme maaseudulla ja pysyhdyimme Juvalla aivan ihastuttavaan teehuoneeseen. Paikka oli aivan ihana: siellä oli ihanat kukkakuvioiset tapetit ja ihanat pienet pöydät. Kaiken lisäksi teevalikoima oli mahtava ja söimme myös aivan ihania tilauksesta tehtyjä skonsseja kermavaahdon ja hillon kanssa, nam!

I have had these photos lying on my desk waiting to be scrapped. The colors of this week's case file in CSI was perfect for these. Last summer we were driving in the country side of Finland and stopped to the most perfect tea room I have ever been to (well, I don't have that much experience about tea rooms, but this was perfect!). It was basically in the middle of nowhere. There were cute little tables in the room with floral wall papers. It was a totally adorable place. And there was also a good tea selection and heavenly scones with whipped cream and jelly, yummy!

Tämä sivu tuntui jotenkin paluulta omaan tyyliini. Olen viimeaikoina testannut paljon erilaisia tekniikoita ja tyylejä, joten oli ihana tehdä tällainen itselleni "perinteinen" sivu. Paperikerrosten alla on hieman gessoa, vesivärikuvioita gelatoseilla tehtyinä sekä kuvioita maskin läpi tehtynä. Yhden kukan tein itse vanhasta kirjan sivusta ja lisäsin siihen myös hieman gessoa ja väriä.

This page is sort of back to basics for me. Lately I've been experimenting a lot of new techniques and styles, but in this layout I kept it simple (and it was so relaxing to do this layout). There is layer of gesso, some watercolors made with gelatos and stenciling in the background. Then it's just paper layers and embellishments. I made one of the flowers from old book pages and added some gesso and gelatos to it.

Sketchbook365: My crazy one

Tänään pääsin tekemään vihdoin sivun tämän kuukauden Sketchbook365-haasteeseen. Luonnos oli tällä kertaa todella mukava ja sivuni onkin melko tarkasti sen mukainen. Edelleen kuitenkin pyöreät elementit aiheuttavat minulle haasteita, joten ne jätin versiostani pois.

Today I found time to make my version for this months Sketchbook365 challenge. I really liked the sketch and I followed it pretty closely. I still find circular elements hard to use so I left those out from my layout.

Sivun kuva on otettu viime viikonloppuna miehestäni, jonka oli vielä pakko päästä wakeboardaamaan mökillä. Minusta ajatus oli aivan pähkähullu, ulkolämpötila oli +6 ja vesi vain 9 asteista. Rohkeasti hän silti veteen meni ja väitti ettei tullut edes kylmä (jota oli vaikea uskoa, koska itse olin pukenut päälle talvivaatteet!) :) Sivu on melko yksinkertainen. Glitz Designin paperi, jonka valitsin taustapaperiksi, oli jotenkin surffihenkinen, joten se sopi mielestäni aiheeseen hyvin. Taustaa työstin embossauskuvioilla ja gessolla.  Kirjaintarrat värjäsin gelatoseilla sopivan väriseksi. Olenkin viime aikoina ostanut vain valkoisia kirjaintarroja, sillä niiden värjääminen itse sopiviksi on niin helppoa.

The picture that is in the layout is from last weekend. My husband really wanted to go wakeboarding and I found the idea totally crazy as the air was only +6 celsius and water +9 celsius. Still he went and said that it wasn't cold (which was hard to believe as I had winter cloths on!) :) The page is quite simple. I really liked that paper from Glitz Design as I though it has "surf" feel on it. I added some embossed arrows and gesso to the background. I colored also the alpha stickers with gelatos. Actually I have lately only bought white alpha stickers as I think those are so easy to color to match the layout.
