Something sweet - layout with SBW August kit

I loved the fun and summery embellishments from Simple Stories that were included in the Scrapbook Werkstatt's August kit. Those balloons and flowers are so pretty! As the colors are so sweet and light I used the black Thickers to bring some contrast to the layout.

Life lately

While the central Europe has had one of the hottest summers in a while, we in Finland deifnitely haven't had that. It's been pretty cold and rainy. Not a weather I like. That's why we decided to take off and spend a week in the sunny and warm island of Cyprus!

We have't been in the Mediterranean area for some time, I think it was 2008 the last time we were there. It was lovely, sunny and relaxing! A perfect getaway!

That was fun I SBW August kit

Here is another layout I made with Scrapbook Werkstatt August monthly kit. I was inspired by the Teresa Collins PL cards and embellishments so I created a layout just using gold, white and black. As all the papers were in the form of PL cards I made a grid design. Now you might notice that there is a 12 inch wide strip of paper at the top? That's actually a PL card cut to pieces!

I really love how the drawn squares around the grid looks like! Such a simple and easy way to create some interest to the layout!

You & Me l Layout with Scrapbook Werkstatt's monthly kit

Today is the reveal day of Scrapbook Werkstatt's August monthly kit. The kit is full of lovely products! Get your kit here!

Here is one of the five layouts I created with the kit. I had so much fun making this bright layout! I love the color yellow here!

The two girls in the picture are my cousins. The relationship that these two sisters have is just amazing and I love how they care of each other <3

Mini notebook

Summer is the perfect holiday season! It’s the perfect time for small getaways or even longer trips. If you don’t want to take your normal planner or notebook with you for the trips, a little travel themed notebook can be a great solution for you!

I made this mini notebook with the 4x6 Project Life cards from Family Portraits store. I also used some stickers to decorate the notebook. The notebook is small and handy. I can keep it with me and keep track of trip related to-do’s and notes!

Journey

When I was going through the papers from the Paper Camellia's July main scrapbook kit I just loved the look of the ”Tribal” paper from Crate Paper. In fact I loved it so much that I instantly started thinking about how I could get the most out of this paper so that I can use it in several layouts. My solution was to cut the paper and create a similar pattern to a white cardstock.

As the pattern was so bold I tried to be practical with the embellishments. I added majority of the embellishments near the picture and title. I also added few chipboard feathers tone on tone with the papers.

Happy Colors + process video

I just love happy and bright colors! And this layout has so many of them! Clearly I'm in a summer mood as lately I've been making some really colorful layouts. For this layout I used the tags/journaling cards I cut out from one of the Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy papers. Those colors went so well with the picture of my new frixion pens.

I filmed a process video while I made the layout. It's been too long since I shared a video here!

Here are some closeup photos:

Have fun ok!

It's the first week of my summer holiday and I had some time to scrap! This time I did a layout just for fun (or maybe I should say without any assignment as scrapbooking is always fun)!

I just love all the bright colors from Dear Lizzy's Fine and Dandy collection! For some reason I wasn't sure if the combination of bright red and pink would work together but at least I think it works! Can you also see that I used some washi tape too?

On my desk lately...

If you saw the announcement that I'm now designing for Scrapbook Werkstatt you probably guessed that I'm already working with some projects for them.

My first assignment was to work with the August monthly kit that will be available for purchase on 26th of July (here is a link to the page where you can find the kit on that day). The kit is gorgeous! Here are some sneak peeks of the layouts I did with the kit!

Like the last picture said it was fun working with the kit!

BDay dinner

Today I want to show you a layout I made with the Paper Camellia's July main scrapbook kit. I love how this kit encouraged me to use colors that I don’t normally use that much, like bold red and blue. These colors went so well together with the picture I took of my birthday dinner (and btw, the dinner was awesome! If you are in Helsinki, check the restaurant called "Sandro"!)

In this layout I cut the paper quite a bit! I did some fussy cutting to get out those pretty flowers from the My Mind’s Eye’s Discovery paper. On the other hand I was really inspired by the other side of the paper and decided to cut out some shapes from there too. This was a great way to use both sides of the paper!

I added some wood veneers and enamel dots to my embellishment clusters.

I really love how this layout turned out! Clearly I need to try some new color combinations more often!

Making your own stickers!

I love using my Silhouette Cameo but often I'm too lazy to use it. It makes the scrapbooking process slower when you need to plan and make the cut while you are working on a layout. Sometimes I make several cuts beforehand but then my desk is full of die cuts and I don't end up using the die cuts at all...

Last week I tried something that was an eye-opener for me. Making your own stickers using the print-and-cut feature! I can make a full sheet of stickers and I don't have a messy desk with multiple die-cuts just lying around :)

The starting point for all of this was the lovely package I received from Mira (from Cat File Store/Family Portraits). Mira and her husband have started to sell physical products too and one of these products is a sticker sheet. I instantly wanted to try and make my own stickers using the printables and cut files from Cat File Store.

Here is a layout I made using a lot of the stickers I made! Making this layout took about 15 minutes + 15 minutes to make the stickers. Easy and fast!
