Family Portraits: April

I just realized that I have shared my Family Portraits album here on my blog yet! Life has been a bit hectic lately...

Well anyways, here it is! I just love the Family Portraits concept. Last year I tried to do Project Life (and failed miserably), but I decided to start a new album dedicated only to Family Portraits. It’s a mini album, 4x4 inch instagram album. As the pockets are quite small, I wanted to dedicate those just to photos and pretty papers/embellishments. I came up with the idea to print my stories into vellum and attaching the vellum as a separate page between the pocket pages.

Another process video! I'm on a roll :)

This layout was doe by using Paper Camellia's May main scrapbook kit. I decided to modify the gold foam stickers with paint. See from the video how did it go!

Life is good with doughnuts!

It's time to show you my layout for Scrap Around The World's May challenge. This month is SATW's Annual Epic Event with a huge number of prizes!

The mood board was full of pink celebration! I decided to scrap these photos from May Day. In Finland doughnuts are traditional May Day food. Life must be good when you have a sugary doughnut in your hand :)

The story of a flower that just keeps blooming

Yesterday was my turn at Paper Camellia's blog. I made this layout using Paper Camellia's May main scrapbook kit. I have had this picture of blooming orchids on my table and the beautiful pink papers from Elle’s Studio were perfect for this photo. And you can’t go wrong by adding a touch of gold to the mix!

The orchid in the picture is the first flower/plant that we haven't been able to kill (at least yet). It just keeps blooming.

My husband bought that flower to me a day after my mom's funeral. Today is mother's day. For me there's something really symbolic in that flower. I know the flower probably won't last forever but now I find it comforting somehow.

In The Scrap: Layout with process video

Yesterday I had my first tutorial published in In The Scrap's blog. I made a layout with paper strips that I had left from my previous layouts In this layout I was able to use multiple papers but still keep the overall look clean and simple.

If you want to see how this layout came together you can watch a process video below. If the embedded video doesn't work, here is a link to the video: https://youtu.be/foTOXbGy0Bw

The story of a new sofa

Yesterday was a reveal day at Paper Camellia. May kits are full of color and lovely products, so make sure you check out the full reveal from Paper Camellia's blog!

Here is my layout for the reveal I wanted to use Elle's Studio's products that were on the main kit.

That's our living room in the picture. When we first moved together with my hubby (we were 20 years old at the time) we bought the cheapest sofa that we found (and liked). We had that sofa for 8 years. Finally in January we bought a new sofa and did a small makeover to our living room. The room has so much more light now and the new sofa is so comfy!
