Favorite layouts of 2015

It's almost new year and now it's a good time to look back and make a recap of my favorite layouts from the year 2015.

When it comes to scrapbooking, the year 2015 was really good for me. I was honored to be part of amazing design teams, such as Paper Camellia, Cat File Store, CSI, SATW and Scrapbook Werkstatt. From these I want to specially mention two. Being part of Paper Camellia's design team was a huge deal to me. It was my first "big" design team and I loved working with their kits every month. The other I want to mention is Scrapbook Werkstatt. I have admired their DT for a long time and I was so excited when I joined their team after the summer. They have all the new products at their shop and it's such a great team to be part of.

I made a lot of layouts this year. Here are some of my favorites!

I'm sure next year will be amazing too. I'm continuing in Scrapbook Werkstatt's design team and I have a new exciting DT also: Pinkfresh Studio. Let's see what the new year brings! Happy New Year to you, my dear reader!

Shine Bright - a process video for "In The Scrap"

I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas! Today I have a new process video for you. This is my last tutorial for In The Scrap as I needed to step down from their design team. I have busy six months coming up (including moving twice)!

So here is the layout! This is a very simple page made with paper scraps and left over stickers.

The Sweet Life - a layout with Paper Camellia's December kits

Here's my last layout with Paper Camellia's December kits. I really liked the gold glitter details and wanted to use a lot of them in my layout.

I placed the paper vertically to balance the horizontal line that the photo, title and the embellishment create.

To add a pop of color to the layout I used the stickers with hot pink. I wanted the gold and the glitter to be the main embellishment but a hint of bright pink added more interest to the layout.

5 cards with Maggie Holmes' Shine collection

I don't make cards often but when I do I do them in batches. It's easy to make multiple cards while you have all your supplies on hand. Here are 5 cards that I made with Maggie Holmes' Shine collection that I got from Scrapbook Werkstatt

Beautiful - a layout with triangles

Lately I’ve been using a lot of geometric shapes and I just fell in love with the ”Dazzle” paper from Maggie Holmes that was included in Paper Camellia's December kit! Those triangles had to be used!

As the triangle pattern is a bit busy I used white space to balance the layout. As my embellishments I used the stickers from Shine collection. The glitter word thickers are great as you don’t need to place them on a straight line.

Are you a fan of geometric shapes?

A Different Christmas

It has been a bit quiet here on the blog. It's already December and I probably should be preparing for Christmas. In a way I am but this time I'm preparing myself for a different kind of Christmas.

Currently I'm seeing an overflow of Christmas everywhere. Instagram is full of beautiful pictures of December Daily pages and Christmas cards. Everything looks so pretty but I don't have a Christmas mood at all.

I have bought all the Christmas presents. Normally I love to find gifts to my loved ones but this time I just wanted to get over it. I just can't handle this right now.

It's the first Christmas without my Mom.

She loved Christmas. We baked Christmas cookies together and wrapped the gifts together after long shopping days. She decorated her home with beautiful Christmas decorations. She made the Christmas feel like Christmas.

Everyone says that the first year is the hardest. Right now the idea of Christmas without her feels so overwhelmingly hard. Even now I'm trying to type this through the tears. This Christmas I need to visit my mom's grave and that feels so bad.

As a scrapbooker I still want to document the real life. Like in this layout I wanted to write down some thoughts about my Mom's birthday and the flowers I left to her grave.

This is hard.

You darling - a layout with the color blue

Here's my second layout with Paper Camellia December kits. The combination of Maggie Holmes’ Shine and Amy Tangerine’s Finders Keepers works so well together!

I’m not a big fan of the color blue but I just fell in love with the hue on that Amy Tangerine pattern paper. I wanted to keep the colors really simple so it’s just blue, white and black. The big letters from Maggie Holmes that were included in the embellishment add-on made the layout come together so easily!
